Exploring Pittsburgh {We've Moved!!!}

If you haven't been to Pittsburgh, you wont understand. If you have, you know this is a completely accurate picture of the city. With an estimated 446 bridges, it's impossible to avoid crossing them.  If you have Gephyrophobia, this city is not for you.

When we have come to visit in the past, we usually had only a few days to explore. We would tend to stick with our favorites and rarely had time to explore new locations. We also typically came to the city when it was super cold, and it's got such a different feel in the summer.  The city is beautiful, the food scene is on point, and there are more coffee joints than I can count (Starbucks who?). Here are some of my favorite discoveries thus far...

Peace Love & Little Donuts  is hands down one of my new go to stops in the strip district. They have unique flavors, and they're tiny so you can eat more than just one... or six. (From top left to right: Chocolate Sprinkles, Oreo Cookie, Snickerdoodle, Maple Bacon, Samoa, and White Chocolate M&M)

People will complain that The Strip is just a tourist attraction, and it definitely is. But if that's all you see it for, you're not looking hard enough. There are easily 5-6 different cultures within a few blocks. You can get Thai, Mexican, Italian, Greek, or Vietnamese all on one street. I say that's a win.

Edgar's Tacos at the strip were also amazing. Going down on a weekday was clutch, because there was no wait and it was easy to find a seat. During the weekend it can get pretty busy, and you might end up eating your taco while sitting on the curb. It WILL be worth it. The tacos were made fresh right before my eyes, and they have an entire bar of fresh salsa's to add to your liking. You can get anything from a beef tongue taco to a regular old chicken taco. You can't beat the price either, two tacos for $5.00!

Strip District Meats  is a local butcher shop and they have everything you can ever imagine. I mean Llama?!?!?!?! I will not be partaking in that, as they are far too adorable, but I know we will be picking up some elk or wild boar as soon as our grill is up and running!

About 10 minutes away you can find Market Square. Come hungry. They have food everywhere, and you could spend a whole week down there eating at a different restaurant. The best spot here, Nicholas Coffee and Teas. They've been in operation since 1919, and the coffee is amazing. They have every flavor you could imagine and an entire wall of their shop is covered in different beans and tea leaves. The smell when you walk in is intoxicating.

In conclusion, I will be eating everything in this wonderful city. Thank God there are so many hills, because I am going to need to walk off all of those donuts!
