The Family Farm

Blake and I took a quick trip to Pittsburgh to visit family, and so that we could make a trip to his family's property. We love to visit and we couldn't wait to take Emmy.  The property is huge and is surrounded by gorgeous valleys of changing leaves. The Amish buggies always bring a smile to my face, and I love how gorgeous it seems each and every time we visit.

This was our first long distance trip with Emmy, and since we had to bring her travel kennel there wasn't enough room for her to sit in the back seat.  At first she was not happy with mom and dad, but after a few minutes she settled in quite nicely. I was so happy with how absolutely amazing she did on the trip, and now I'm already planning where our next road trip will be to.

As per usual, we took a hike up to the gas wells, and Emmy loved exploring the paths. Blake and I drove to the neighboring "city" to pick up some homemade cheese and an Amish made bird house for our back yard.  The drive through beer store was far too tempting to pass up, so we of course drove through and picked up an ice cold pack of Labatt to relax after our long excursion. Needless to say, the pup passed out immediately after getting into the car.

Blake and I like to drive down and plan our pretend future, where we have our custom built "tiny house" up on the property, can wake up on a crisp fall morning, drink a cup of coffee, and watch the pup romp around the field!

    1. It is beyond gorgeous. The pictures don't do it justice, and fall is the absolute best time to visit. Is there really anything else we need in life other than coffee and pets? haha.
